Changes - Eduardo Mac

Music Video
+ ‘think of a future where nothing worked out’
Music Artist, Writer, Director
In the music video for ‘Changes,’ Dut tells his therapist the experience he had coming back from some undisclosed location, singing his pains and sorrows on a dirt road while smoking cigarettes. Dut is skeptical at first but he soon opens up about the pains of growing up, about letting go of old friends and old habits and his biggest fear: change. During that melancholic night, he manages to grab a ride with some strangers and in the car he has the realization that the ultimate step in his coming of age is to embrace change and to keep going no matter what. He knows what to do.

BEHIND THE SCENES:

LYRICS:

Everything and everyone a blur
I was left on a highway, sun been rising on the coast
Found myself with a lighter, cigarette bud
I was no kid, anyway, it was hard to stay awake but
I missed the ways in which I felt today
Back with Johnny on the couch, while we sat on yesterdays, reminiscing ‘bout a phase,
We made tempos, laid awake, I was too drunk,
Going off ‘fore they told me i should clean up
Why you flying on the wheel since you wake up?
I be running running running, catching my luck
I ain’t never staying put, fuck being stuck
I’m done being stuck

Looking back, don’t know where I was at, I was running in place,
Stuck in my ways, home, called up some friends running the same race
Beat after beat, play, writing my songs, finding my own pace
I had to move on for real, do this for real,
7 full albums, no deal
I got a picture of us in my mama’s place,
Ain’t got no time today no time to waste
A type of violence, (too much) self-demand
Do you know yourself?
Do you know yourself?

I got plans I made and friends that gone away,
But homie’s still playing my shit today
went off to college, you got a girl
Is she your whole world?
Ss she your whole world?

Sitting in my car we can go far if you want
Never see anyone, ‘dem faces tired of

It ain’t your world that you livin’ so you tensed up
You keep that same smile on you like you posed up
Said life don’t pause on anyone, so I be runnin, actin’ up
‘Fore it’s too late, I’m moving fast cuz it’s me they gotta catch up
Hopping on a new flight for the re-up
They don’t even check my visa, they all starstruck
Life renewing, i’ve been building off of good luck
I’ve been telling everyone they gotta speed up

Get on the right track, shit ain’t hard to abstract
Call it a backpack, shit from the past, write a new song for the act
They call it manifest, conjure shit up, luck ain’t hard to attract
I’m doing this shit for real, fuck how you feel, I’m doing me and a mill’

I got a picture of us in my mama’s place, Ain’t got no time today no time to waste
Look at my mileage, I ain’t a tool
Can you accept the rules?

I got plans I made and friends that gone away,
But your lil bro still calls me by your name
Ain’t graduated yet, but i’m not a fool
Act like you got a clue
Act like you got a clue
We get older, we grew up
But the same look on the face when we’re done
Some of us in love, some of us drunk
No one said it hurts growing up
My childhood bedroom, window with a view
The same old ghosts on the ceiling, n some new
When time passed slowly and I missed you
We’d wish to never change but I think that we knew

Normal highschool in Brazil, I got it billed
My friends graduated, but they all standing still
It’s been a long year, hopped in the back seat
It’s been a weird one

Morning light, sunshine
Through the window, goodbye
Packed my bags on time
Polaroid pic clear, hair dyed, skin dried on the last nite

Fuck a highschool, fuck a future past,
Enjoy right now today
‘Cause that shit won’t last ...
